Carlson-Farmer, Inc. has built custom homes since 1988. Whether our customers would like to build a custom home in the mountains, on the lake, or in the city, we work closely with them to achieve the dream home they have always wanted.
We understand that many custom homes require other professional services, such as architects, engineers, , interior decorators and banks. We realize the importance of working together with these professionals as a team to accomplish an organized, smooth-running project.
The styles of our custom homes have ranged from colonial, to french country, to homes indigenous to the Western Carolina mountains. Typical exterior finishes include brick, stucco, stone, cement siding, cedar, poplar bark, timber frame, and more.
Our goal is that our customers receive superior quality service, excellence in craftsmanship, and a lasting relationship that is built on honesty and integrity to produce their custom home that exceeds their expectations. We have also built other structures, such as state-of-the-art equestrian barns, garages, carriage houses, and many others.
In the process, Carlson-Farmer has become known as a custom home builder that pays attention to the details – from rustic mountain retreats to French Provincial to Georgian Colonial to Tuscan. Carlson-Farmer is a custom home builder paying attention to details that we have become known for. We have the proven ability to work with clients, architects, and designers to create one-of-a kind homes.

Carlson-Farmer, Inc is up to the challenge to completely renovate and change an existing house, from the inside out. Working closely with our clients on a daily basis to identify the weaknesses in the design, to draft new creative ideas, to soundly change structural components, and to flawlessly execute the craftsmanship required to change an existing home into one that will meet the needs and wishes of the client for years to come.
Whether it's an addition, a historical renovation, or a restoration, one of our main goals is to seamlessly match materials and design to create a beautiful transition between the old and new structures and to restore existing homes to their original beauty and integrity.
We also offer handicap accessibility remodeling for both residential and commercial projects, such as handicap ramps, curbless showers, widening door openings, and other accessibility needs.
It takes skill and planning to incorporate an addition artfully into the existing architecture, taking into account both the interior and the exterior designs. A foundational principle behind our work is to always strive to make the addition seamless so that the client cannot tell where the old stops and the new begins.
We can take dated and tired kitchens and renovate them to incorporate the newest trends and designs for a fresh look and layout that will bring enjoyment and efficiency for years to come
